Our mission
At the heart of our farm is a simple mission: to glorify God by caring well—for our animals, our land, and our community. Through faithful stewardship, honest work, and open-handed hospitality, we hope to reflect His goodness in all we do—from the way we raise our cattle to the way we welcome others to the table.
Our vision
To honor God through the work of our hands—caring for His creation with gratitude and passing on a legacy of faith, stewardship, and simple goodness. We long for our farm to be a place where the land flourishes, the animals are well tended, and all who visit catch a glimpse of the peace and provision that come from living close to the soil and close to the Lord.
Frequently asked questions
What breed of cows do you raise?
We offer a very unique breed of cattle: Belted Galloway. They originate in the district of Galloway, Scotland, thus giving them their name. This breed has been proven to be among the healthiest to consume in part because they grow an extra layer of hair instead of fat to survive the long winters. However, just because it has less fat doesn't mean you'll be sacrificing any flavor. They also rate at the top of taste tests for flavor! Belted Galloways are commonly referred to as "oreo cows" since they typically have a white stripe across their middle.
Additionally, we've added some Black Angus to our herd. So if you are accustomed to this more common breed of beef, please let us know! We'd be happy to reserve some of this delightful beef for you as well. This breed also hails from Scotland, and thus, has characteristics that help it to survive the harsh winters. This breed is usually slightly larger than the Belties meaning you'll get a little more beef if you buy our Angus.
Do you use growth hormones? Are they grass fed?
our cattle are primarily grass fed, which ensures the beef is very healthy. We never use growth hormones on our livestock, and unlike those in large production, we allow our beef cattle to mature naturally.
How do I order?
We have an ongoing waiting list which we would be happy to add you to! We'll contact you when we are within a month or two of availability.
We sell our cattle using the custom exempt processing method, so we charge by the live weight of the cow. We deliver the cow to our local custom processor (A & M Processing in Hamburg, MN) on the specified date. Your beef is not packaged for resale, which saves you more money on the processing costs.
Can you explain the process when ordering beef?
Contact us with any questions you may have.
Schedule your beef appointment through us.
The weight of the cow is determined and passed along to you.
We provide you with the cost of your portion of beef via a simple contract which you must sign and return. (Note: the contract is designed to protect your interests as the buyer and lays out the options we have available. We can provide a copy in advance for you to review before you place your order.)
You provide us with payment for the beef (cash, personal checks, or certified checks are accepted).
We deliver the cow to the processor for you (free of charge).
You call the processor to specify what cuts of meat you would like and options such as thickness, number of steaks per package, etc. The processor is very good at walking you through this process and will answer any questions you may have. You do not need to know any specifics in advance and even our new customers have not experienced any issues when making their selections.
After approximately 1-2 weeks you pick up your beef directly from the processor. (Note: the processor is approximately 1 hr southwest of Minneapolis. If it will be difficult for you to pick up your beef we can arrange to pick it up for a small fee and meet you with it in the western metro area).
Enjoy your delicious beef and recommend us to your friends and family!
